RESOLUTION ORDERING FINAL PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND CALLING FOR
BIDS: 2011 STREET REHABILITATION PROJECT NO. ST 2011 - 01
WHEREAS, the construction of certain improvements is deemed to be in the interest of the City
of Fridley and the property owners affected thereby, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley has prepared a Capital Improvement Plan to systematically
reconstruct streets in the City to a standard section including concrete curb and gutter, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley's Engineering Department has completed preparation of a
feasibility report and estimates of costs thereof for the improvements.
WHEREAS, pursuant to direction of the City Council, a report has been prepared by the City of
Fridley Public Works Department with reference to the specific improvements, and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2010 -86 adopted November 15, 2010 received the feasibility report
and called for a public hearing on the matter of the construction of certain improvements listed
therein, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing regarding said improvements was set for January 24, 2011, and
ten days' mailed notice and two weeks' published notice of the hearing was given, and
WHEREAS, the public hearing regarding said improvements was held thereon on January 24,
2011 at which all persons desiring to be heard were given an opportunity to be heard thereon,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRIDLEY, MINNESOTA:
1. Such improvement is necessary, cost - effective, and feasible as detailed in the
feasibility report.
2. That the improvements proposed in the feasibility report are hereby ordered to
be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit:
Street improvements, including milling and overlaying with hot -mix
bituminous pavement and ancillary work associated with these improvements,
to be constructed on the following streets:
51th Place
Main Street to 3rd
Street
58th Avenue
Main Street to 3rd
Street
59' Avenue
Main Street to 3rd
Street
60' Avenue
Main Street to 160' E. of 3rd Street
Main Street
5 1t Avenue to 61st
Avenue
2nd Street

4. That the work be incorporated in the 2011 STREET REHABILITATION
PROJECT NO. ST2011 -01.
5. That the work be performed under this project may be performed under one or
more contracts as may be deemed advisable upon receipt of bids.
6. That the Director of Public Works, James P. Kosluchar, is hereby designated
as the engineer for this improvement. He shall oversee the preparation of
plans, specifications and estimates of costs thereof for making of such
improvements.
7. That final plans, specifications, and estimates are prepared by the Public
Works Engineering Division and provided to the City Council as they are
completed.
8. That the Engineering Division call for bids in order that project award and
construction can be considered.
