RES 1960-140 - 00012877 (2)NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of Fridley thet: 1. The County of Anoka acquire the right to Osborne Road from the City of Fridley. 2. The County of Anoka attempt to straighten out said Osborne Road, so that it will lie in an approximately straight line from East River Road to the East City Limits of Fridley. 3. That the City of Fridley City Council will work with the Board of Commissioners of the County of Anoka to make ' possible the straightening of said road by acquisition of the necessary right- of-way for same. Brunsell RESOLUTION N0. 140 -1960 ' WHEREAS, on August 26, 1960, the City of Fridley Police car was involved in an accident resulting in injuries to Sgt. L.B. Fritz and Patrolman John Oden, so that said officers had to be hospitalized, and WHEREAS, Chief of Police Everett McCarthy was out of the City attending the F.B.I. School in Washington, D.C., and WHEREAS, Patrolman Donald Bennethum, Senior Officer remaining became ill, and was unavailable for duty, and WHEREAS, the burden of providing police protection for the My of Fridley was assumed by the remaining two patrolmen, Robert Cook and Hilbert Voigt, and WHEREAS, Officers Cook and Voigt gave unstjn #ingly, and unself- ishly, of their time and effort, over and above the usual call of duty, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley: 1. That Officers Cook and Voigt bey and they hereby are, ' commended by the Council of the City of Fridley for such services. 2, That the Council of the City of Fridley extends, by this resolution, its heartfelt thanks to Officers Cook and Voigt for their loyalty to the City, and their efforts in its behalf, 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to make suitable copies of this resolution for presentation to Officer Robert Cook, and Officer Hilbert Voigt. Brunsell RESOLUTION N0. 1141 - 1960 A RESOLUTION ORDERING PREL119NARY PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley, as follows: 1. That it appears in the interest of the City and of the property owners affected that there be constructed certain improvements, to -wit: a. WATER LATERALS, service connections, and app - urtenances in the following lands and along the following streets: 1. All of those streets lying within the following described lines bordered in the east by Able Street, on the north by Osborne Road, on the west by Van Buren Street, and on the south by 75th Avenue Northeast; the same being located in the North one -half (Nz) of Section 11, T -30, R -24, Anoka County, Minnesota. b. SITTER LATERALS, service connections, and app- urtenances, in the foal.owing lands and along the following streets: 1. In the area described in paragraph as Subdivision (1) above. That the firm of Comstock and Davis, Inc., is hereby auth- orized and directed to draw preliminary plans and specifications and to tabulate the results of his or their estimates of the costa of said improvements, and to make a preliminary report of his or findings to the Council not later than at their earliest con - venience.
