The plans and specifications prepared by Comstock and Davis, Inc., Consulting Engineers, for such improve- ments and each of them, pursuant to the Council resolu- tions heretofore adopted, a copy of which plans and specifications are hereto attached and made a part hereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk. 3. The work to be performed under SEWER AND WATER IMPROVE- - MENT PROJECT NO. 35 -1960, shall be performed under one ' contract. The City Manager shall accordingly prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertise- ment shall be published for 3 weeks (at least 21 days), and shall specify the work to be done and will state that bids will be opened and considered at 12:00 o'clock, Noon, on the 6th day of June, 1960, in the Council Chambers of the City Mall, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk, and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City for five percent ( 5 0) of the amount of such bid. That the ad- vertisement for bids for SEWER AND WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 35 -1960 shall be substantially in form as that noted in Exhibit "B" attached hereto for reference and made a part hereof. Gre g CITY MANAGER - Earl P Wagner RESOLUTION N0. 511 - 1960 A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, APPROVAL OF PLANS, AND ORDERING ADVERTISING FOR BIDS: CHANNEL ROAD gyp, WHEREAS, the resolution of the City Council adopted the 19th day of April, 1960, set the date for hearing on the proposed im- provements, as specifically noted in the notice of hearing attach - ed hereto for reference as EXHIBIT "A", and, WHEREAS, all the property owners whose property is liable to be assessed with the making of these improvements (as noted in said notice) were given ten (10) days published notice of the Council hearing through two (2) weekly publications of the re- quired notice, and the hearing was held and the property owners heard thereon at the hearing, as noted in said notice. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the following improvements heretofore proposed by Council resolution are hereby ordered to be effected and completed as soon as reasonably possible, to -wit: a. Wagner RESOLUTION N0. 55 - 1960 A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR ENGINEERING STUDIES BY THE NORTH SUBURBAN SEWERAGE COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fridley has determined that the matter of sewage disposal is a serious problem to the residents of this municipality; and WHEREAS, this Council previously has decided to participate with the councils of other municipalities in the north suburban area in studies to determine the advisability and feasibility of establishing a sewage disposal plant and system for the munici- palities; and WHEREAS, the representatives of the municipalities of Coon Rapids, Blaine, Spring Lake Park, Moundsview, Brooklyn Park and Fridley have adopted for identification purposes the name of North Suburban Sewerage Committee; and WHEREAS, the engineers for each municipality have pooled their information, and are now prepared to collaborate in a study to determine the cost of nreparing a complete report on the advisability and feasibility of a mutual disposal system; and WHEREAS, no further progress can be made, except by the ex- penditure of funds for engineering studies which can best be made on a participating basis; and RESOLUTTON NO. 54 EXPIBIT "A" Project #30 ( Later #36 ) CITY OF FRIDLEY NOTICE OF HEARING ON IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, has deemed it necessary and expedient that the improve- ments hereinafter described be made. NOW, THEREFORE, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 3rd day of May, 1960, at 7:30 o'clock P.Y., the City Council will meet at the ' City Hall in said City, and will at said time, and place, hear all parties interested in said improvements in whole or in part. GREIG MAYOR BNSOLCITtON NO. 54 EXHIBIT "B" NOTICE TO Sealed bids will be received, publicly opened and considered by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, at the office of the City Manager in said City on the 6th day of June, 1960, at 12:00 o'clock Noon for the furnishing of work and materials for the installation of Sewer and Water and Storm Sewer Improvement Project Number 36. The project consists of the following approximate quantities: 9,300 Lin. Ft. 8" and 6" Sanitary Sewer lines with appurtenances 10,500 Lin. Ft. 6" and 1" Water lines with appurtenances 180 Lin. Ft. 15" CMP Storm Sewer with appurtences All in accordance with plans and specifications prepared for the City of Fridley, Minnesota, by Comstock & Davis, Inc., Uonsulting Engineers, 1446 County Road "J ", Minneapolis, Minneseta, Telephone Sunset 4 -9346. Plans and specifications may be examined at the office of the City Manager, and copies may be obtained for the Contractor's individual use by applying to the Engineers and depositing with the Engineers $25.00 for each set. The deposit will be refunded to each bidder sub- mitting a bona -fide bid upon return of the documents in good m ndition within ten (10) days from the date of opening bids. Bids must be made on the basis of cash payment for the work and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check (on a responsible bank in the State of Minnesota) or a bidder's bond and made payable without condition to the City of Fridley,_ Minnesota, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total am -unt of the bid. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any information in any bids received without explanation. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.
