Res 2002-01 RESOLUTION NO. 01 - 2002 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2002 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City of Fridley, Minnesota(the"City")has identified its housing and community development needs; and WHEREAS, the City believes that those needs can be met by the Community Development Block Grant(the"CDBG Program"); and WHEREAS, the City has identified two potential projects for CDBG Funding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The Council adopts the projects outlined in Exhibit A attached to this resolution. 2. The Council authorizes City staff to prepare an application to Anoka County for said CDBG funds. 3. The Council authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to execute all documents necessary to secure said CDBG funds. SKOG N- CIT/ LERK Resolution No. 1-2002 Page 2 EXHIBIT A CITY OF FRIDLEY 2002 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM Exterior Improvement Program for Rental Housing CDBG funds will be used to provide deferred loans to qualified rental property owners for exterior code improvements, such as parking lot repairs/expansion,hard surface driveways, dumpster enclosures, garages, landscaping, etc. The matching funds will be provided by the owner, through either their own resources or by accessing the MHFA Rental Rehabilitation Program administered by the Center for Energy and Environment(CEE). Additional details are described in the City's application. SOURCES 2002 CDBG Funds $100,000 USES Grants to Owners $90,000 Administration * $10,000 Total $100,000 * Program will be administered by the CEE under a separate administrative contract.
