Res 2002-02 RESOLUTION NO. 02 - 2002 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2002 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City of Fridley,Minnesota(the"City")has identified its housing and community development needs; and WHEREAS, the City believes that those needs can be met by the Community Development Block Grant (the"CDBG Program"); and WHEREAS, the City has identified two potential projects for CDBG Funding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The Council adopts the projects outlined in Exhibit A attached to this resolution. 2. The Council authorizes City staff to prepare an application to Anoka County for said CDBG funds. 3. The Council authorizes the Mayor and City Manager to execute all documents necessary to secure said CDBG funds. SKOG N- CI/' CLERK Resolution No. 2-2002 Page 2 EXHIBIT A CITY OF FRIDLEY 2002 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM Classroom Facility for Fire Training Center CDBG funds will be used to assist the City in constructing a classroom building at the Fire Training Facility. The Fire Training Facility is located between the City's Municipal Garage and Columbia Arena near 71st Ave. and University Ave. The current plan is to construct a 36' x 60' one story building that would consist of classroom space, men's and women's restrooms and a small kitchenette. Additional details are described in the City's application.
