Res 2002-44 RESOLUTION NO. 44 - 2002 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF ANOKA TO PLAN, IMPLEMENT, AND MAINTAIN A PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM IN ANOKA COUNTY WHEREAS, the County of Anoka and its municipalities have a desire to implement a public safety communications system that will provide communication between and among fire departments and law enforcement agencies in Anoka County; WHEREAS, the Joint Law Enforcement Council and Anoka County have determined that the speed and accuracy of public safety communication would be improved by the development of a new public safety communications system; and WHEREAS, in order to do so, it is necessary for the City of Fridley to enter into a joint powers agreement as is required by Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.59; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota(the"City"), as follows: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Fridley hereby authorizes and directs the Mayor and the City Manager to execute and deliver the Joint Powers Agreement by and between the City of Fridley and the County of Anoka. The Joint Powers Agreement shall be substantially in the form on file with the City Clerk on the date hereof. Section 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
