Res 1996-32 OOOC6 RESOLUTION NO. 32 - 1996 RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE WELL NO. 12 WATER TREATMENT PLANT PROJECT NO. 293 WHEREAS, the City Council determined it was necessary to construct an additional water treatment facility at Well No. 12, and WHEREAS, the Council on November 27, 1995 retained the services of Maier Stewart and Associates (MSA) to design the Well No. 12 water treatment plant, at a cost of $125,465, and WHEREAS, a model of the filtration system has been completed, and WHEREAS, the plans and specifications have now been prepared for the construction of a pressure filtered water treatment plant at Well No. 12. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota, as follows: that the following improvement proposed by Council are hereby ordered to be effectively completed as soon as reasonably possible, to-wit: 1. An iron and manganese water treatment plant at Well No. 12, including grading, stabilized base, hot mix bituminous mat, concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer system, water and sanitary sewer services, landscaping and other facilities located as follows: WELL NO. 12 7345 HIGHWAY 65 2. That the work involved in said improvement as listed above shall hereafter be designed as: Well No. 12 Water Treatment Plant Project No. 293 3. That the plans and specifications prepared by Maier Stewart and Associates for such improvements and each of them pursuant to the Council direction, a copy of which plans and specifications are heretofore attached and made a part thereof, are hereby approved and shall be filed with the City Clerk. 4. The Public Works Director shall accordingly prepare and caused be inserted in the official newspaper advertisements for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for three weeks (at least 21 days) and shall specify the work to be done and will state the bids will be opened and considered in the Council Chambers of the Fridley Municipal Center and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Public Works Director and accompanied by cash deposit, bid bond or certified check payable to the City for 5 percent of the amount of such bid.
