RESOLUTION NO. 95 - 1996
A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR A SPECIAL
MEETING OF THE FRIDLEY CITY COUNCIL TO CANVASS GENERAL
ELECTION RETURNS
WHEREAS, the general election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 1996;
and
WHEREAS, according to State law and Section 4 .08 of the Fridley City
Charter the City Council is required to meet and canvass election
returns within seven (7) calendar days after any regular or special
municipal election; and
WHEREAS, no regular meeting of the Fridley City Council has been
scheduled within that time period;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Fridley that the Council will hold a special meeting in the Council
Chambers of the Fridley Municipal Center, commencing at 7:00 PM on
Tuesday, November 12, 1996, to canvass municipal election returns from
the November 5, 1996 election and to carry out any other business which
may come before the Council.
