Res 1963-25 1R RESOLUTION NO. 24-1963 RESOLUTION RELATING TO HF #185 WHEREAS, a bill has been introduced into the Minnesota House of Rep- resentatives and designated HG #185, and WHEREAS, said bill relates to permitting an increase from two mills to five mills for Free County Libraries, and WHEREAS, the City of Fridley with the highest valuation in Anoka County contributes the greatest share of funds to the Anoka County Free Library, and WHEREAS, an increase in the mill rate would further increase the City of Fridley's disproportionate contribution to the funds for the Anoka County Free Library, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley: 1. That this proposed bill should be amended if it appears that said bill will pass. 2. That the amendment should provide in some manner that up to the equivalent of two mills of a municipality's assessed valuation can be spent from County Library Funds by the County Free Library for construction of library facilities in said municipality within the County. 3. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward two certified copies of this resolution to the sponsor of HF #185, Representative Bassett. Brunsel RESOLUTION NO. 25-1963 RESOLUTION RELATING TO SF #81 WHEREAS, a bill has been introduced into the Minnesota Senate and designated as SF #81, and WHEREAS, said bill relates to the use of Municipal Liquor Store profits for construction, operation, repair and maintenance of public buildings, and WHEREAS, passage of this bill appears to be in the interests of the City of Fridley. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Fridley: 1. That the Council of the City of Fridley is in favor of SF #81 and supports said bill and urges its passage. 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward two certified copies of this resolution to the sponsor of SF#81, Senator Holland.
