Kir ham a-4--4"6/ COUNCILMAN ea, CO ILMAN 1116 ajytk 4 0 iUNCILMAN COUNCILMAN EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FRIDLEY ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, was duly held at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said city on Tuesday, the 11th day of June, 1968, at o'clock . M. The following members were present: and the following were absent: * * * * * * . * The mayor announced that the meeting was convened for the purpose of considering the results of the special election • held in and for the city on June 11, 1968, on the question of issuing bonds for park, playground and recreational purposes in the amount of $1,500,000. The city manager presented an affidavit showing posting of notice of the special election and ballot in three public places in each ward, and affidavits of the publisher showing.publication of said notice and ballot in the official newspaper, which affidavits were examined and found satisfactory and ordered placed on file. The city manager then presented the official returns of the election officials showing the vote on the following question: • SHALL THE CITY OF FRIDLEY BORROW MONEY AND ISSUE ITS NEGOTIABLE COUPON GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,500,000.00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING MONEY FOR PARK, PLAYGROUND AND RECREATIONAL PURPOSES, INCLUDING LAND ACQUISITION AND DEVELOPMENT, AND ACQUISITION OF EQUIPMENT? The said returns were duly examined and canvassed and found to be as follows: -1- Votes Votes Spoiled or Total Precinct Yes No Blank Ballots Ward 1 - Precinct 1 65 35 100 Ward 1 - Precinct 2 128 102 230 Ward 1 - Precinct 3 69 94 163 Ward 2 - Precinct 1 37 92 129 Ward 2 - Precinct 2 36 47 83 Ward 2 - Precinct 3 26 31 1 58 Ward 3 - Precinct 1 32 111 143 Ward 3 - Precinct 2 32 72 1 105 Ward 3 - Precinct 3 42 53 95 Totals 467 637 2 1106 After due consideration of said returns and canvass thereof, Councilman introduced the following reso- lution and moved its adoption: A RESOLUTION CANVASSING ELECTION BE IT RESOLVED By the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, that it is hereby found and determined that at the special election held in and for said city on June 11, 1968, to vote upon the question of issuing general obligation bonds in the amount of not to exceed $1,500,000 for the purpose of provid- ing money for park, playground and recreational purposes, there were cast a total of 1106 votes, of which 467 were in favor thereof and 637 were against the same, and 2 were spoiled or defective ballots, and said proposition is hereby declared to have been carried by more than the requisite majority vote. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolu- tion was duly seconded by Councilman , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. -2- STATE OF MINNESOTA ) COUNTY OF ANOKA ) SS CITY OF FRIDLEY ) I, the undersigned, being the duly qualified and act- ing City Clerk and Secretary of the Council of the City of Fridley, Minnesota, hereby certify that I have carefully com- pared the attached and foregoing extract of minutes of a spe- cial meeting of the Council held June 11, 1968, with the origi- nal thereof on file in my office and the same is a full, true and correct transcript therefrom insofar as the same relates to the canvass of the returns of the special election held in said city on June 11, 1968.
