09/13/1988 CITY OF FRIDLEY M E M O R A N D U M TO: NASIM M. QURESHI, CITY MANAGER FROM: SHIRLEY A. HAAPALA, CITY CLERK SUBJECT: STATEMENT OF CANVASS DATE: SEPTEMBER 16, 1988 There was an error found in the tabulation of the Absentee Ballots by the Judges for the United States Senate Candidates. They accepted twenty-four Absentee Ballots. When they counted the Absentee Ballots, they allowed seventeen votes for Humphrey, seven for Durenberger and one for Sharon Anderson totaling twenty-five votes. The County was been notified and the Anoka County Canvassing Board has directed the County Auditor to send a letter to the candidates. It is not possible to open the sealed ballot envelope to correct the error. The only way the error can be corrected is for the Candidates to Petition the District Court to recount the ballots. The County Auditor's Office does not expect a recount. We will keep you informed of any action taken by either the County Auditor or the Candidates. If you need any additional information, please let me know. ?aqe l Sept. 13, ,488 Primary Election Stat?meat of Canvass City of Fridley CITY OF FRIDLEY, MINNESOTA STATEMENT OF CANVASS PRIMARY ELECTION SEPTEMBER 13, 1988 DECLARATION OF THE RESULTS THEREOF In accordance with Section 4.08 of the Charter of the City ov Fridley, Minnesota, the City Council declares the results of the 1988 Primary Election to be as follows: A.
