CCM 05/08/17 BOAE BOARD OF APPEAL AND EQUALIZATION MEETING CITY OF FRIDLEY MAY 8, 2017 The continuation of the Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting for the City of Fridley was called to order by Mayor Lund at 7:01 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Lund Councilmember Barnette Councilmember Saefke Councilmember Varichak Councilmember Bolkcom OTHERS PRESENT: Wally Wysopal, City Manager Darcy Erickson, City Attorney Mary Smith, City Assessor Steve Saba, 1470 Onondaga Street Mayor Lund asked Ms. Smith if staff had any updates for them since the last meeting. Mary Smith , City Assessor, said they did not have any updates. Mr. Saba is in the audience tonight but up until tonight, they had not heard from him. Mayor Lund asked Ms. Smith if it was staff’s recommendation to approve the value and classification for Mr. Saba’s property. Ms. Smith replied yes. Mayor Lund said it was his understanding that staff had hoped to view Mr. Saba’s property, but that did not occur. He asked Mr. Saba if he was okay with the City Assessor’s recommendation, and if he was going to go to the County. Mr. Saba replied yes. MOTION by Councilmember Varichak to affirm the value and classification of the property at 7345 Central Avenue NE (PIN #12-30-24-13-0019) as stated at $256,000. Seconded by Councilmember Bolkcom. UPON A VOICE VOTE, ALL VOTING AYE, MAYOR LUND DECLARED THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. MOTION by Councilmember Bolkcom to close the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting.
