FROM THE READERS A TRIBUTE A few weeks ago, I drove a bus that took sixteen handicapped children to the New Minnesota Zoo. The time there proved amusing, interesting and educational. But the thing that impressed me most was the unselfish act of the man who assumed the responsibility of watching over these children for several hours while at the Zoo. I marvelled at the composure and patience that he displayed while facing the possible mishaps and trying situations that could happen with such a group. This man, who could have been enjoying some other activity, chose instead to sacrifice his time so that sixteen disadvantaged children could enjoy a few hours of otherwise denied enlightenment. As I watched this man, the thought ran through my mind: Why are some people willing to take the load of other people on their shoulders, the while asking nothing in return, and the one most likely answer is that they have an instilled inward graciousness that prompts their outward attitudes. Just such a man is Dean Keller, who led his children through a bit of the land of premise. Fridley appreciates and honors such men as Dean Keller.
