FRIDLEY SENIOR CENTER
A reminder to the seniors of Fridley of the coming events at the senior center.
There was a square dancing organizational meeting the 21st of September at the
Community Education Center. All interested seniors should inquire about square
dancing at the center.
On the 23rd of October, we will be having our first anniversary of the opening
of the senior center. A great celebration is being planned. The Fridley VFW will
be sponsoring the dance, bingo and a nice ham dinner at no charge! There will be
dancing to the music of the Melodians, as well as cards, pool playing and just
friendly conversation. More information will be available at a later date. Call
Tony Lorbeski for a reservation. Watch the news media or call the senior center
at 571-6000, extension 122.
Discussions for Seniors is meeting every Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30
a.m. at the Drop-In Center. The subject is the Remembered Past 1914-1945. We had
a very interesting discussion group in our last session. Come and take part in
talking about our past, which now is the history that our young people are
studying. Look for time and date in another article in this news letter.
Register at the senior center for cribbage, that will be held on Friday
afternoons. This cribbage will be tournament play. You may sign up as singles,
but you will be paired off as partners. Signing up as couples is preferred. Call
Bill at 571-6865 for information.

FFF NEWS
On October 4th the Friendly Fridley Folks will have a potluck supper at the at
the Fridley United Methodist Church at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call Bill
Campbell at 571-6865.
Beginning with the November 1st meeting, the Friendly Fridley Folks will
resume the 1:00 p.m, meeting times.
LEISURE LEAGUE OF REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH
The club met at Clarence and Nita Olsons on September 15th for a pot luck
picnic. Because of the rain, we had the picnic indoors. There were 34 people
present. The next meeting will be October 20th at the church. There will be
Kentucky Fried Chicken at 12:00, with games after lunch. Come and join in the fun.
