Res 2019-51 Proposed Property Tax LevyRESOLUTION NO. 2019 - 51 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX LEVY FOR 2019, COLLECTIBLE IN 2020 WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of Fridley (City) grants broad powers to the City to raise money by taxation pursuant to the laws of the State of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the City Charter also establishes both the budget preparation process and the responsibilities of the City Council and City Manager for these activities; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute § 275.065 requires the City to certify its proposed tax levy requirements to the Anoka County on or before September 30; and WHEREAS, the City Council will hold a public meeting on December 9, 2019 before determining a final property tax levy. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby certifies to the County of Anoka, State of Minnesota, the following proposed property tax to be levied in 2019 for collection in 2020: City of Fridley, Minnesota Proposed 2020 Property Tax Levy General Fund $12,458,025 Springbrook Nature Center Fund 411,807 I.T. Capital Equipment Fund 58,708 Bonded Indebtedness 3,181,017 Total Proposed Property Tax Levy $16,109,557 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the City Manager, or their designee, to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to Anoka County, Minnesota.
