RESOLUTION NO. 2020 - 27
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ENTERING INTO COOPERATIVE
AGREEMENT #1036170 WITH MNDOT FOR TRUNK HIGHWAY 47
FENCING AND LANDSCAPING PROJECT
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, Department of Transportation (“MNDOT”) has obtained
funding for construction of fencing and landscaping on Trunk Highway 47 (University Avenue)

between 37Avenue and 69Avenue in the Cities of Columbia Heights and Fridley (the
“Project”); and
WHEREAS, MNDOT has completed plans for the Project, including removal and construction of
fencing and landscaping; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fridley desires to manage, administer, and inspect construction of the
Project to the mutual benefit of both parties and which will maximize funding available to
construction; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes §161.20, subdivision 2 authorizes the Commissioner of
Transportation to make arrangements with and cooperate with any governmental authority for the
purposes of constructing, maintaining, and improving the trunk highway system;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota,
enter into MNDOT Agreement No. 1036170 with the State of Minnesota, Department of
Transportation for purposes of completing and maintaining the Project, including the following:
1. To identify how available funding will be applied to the Project, and
2. To allow the City of Fridley to provide oversight and administration necessary to cause
the Project to be constructed in accordance with plans prepared by MnDOT, and
3. To identify routine maintenance responsibilities of both parties for improvements as part of
the Project.
