Resolution No. 2021-17
Approve Change Order #1 (Final) for Trunk Highway 47 Fencing and Landscaping Project
Whereas, the 2020 Trunk Highway (TH) 47 Fencing and Landscaping project (Project) included
fencing removal and replacement from 37th Avenue in Columbia Heights to 69th Avenue in
Fridley and landscaping to provide aesthetic improvements desired by the public and City Council
under a contract with Hoffman & McNamara Co. of Hastings, MN (Contractor); and
Whereas, the Project was fully funded by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT)
under a cooperative agreement between MnDOT and the City of Fridley; and
Whereas, the City of Fridley was the lead on the project under a Joint Powers Agreement with the
City of Columbia Heights; and
Whereas, additional work was desired by the City of Fridley and City of Columbia Heights that
modified the original contract from $510,523.30 to $649,909.66 (27% increase) and is deemed
eligible for reimbursement by MnDOT; and
Whereas, the Contractor performed work as directed by City staff and work is substantially
completed and awaiting final payment.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves
Approval of Change Order #1 (Final) for the TH 47 Fencing and Landscaping Project in the amount
of $139,386.36.
