Resolution No. 2021-18
Approving a Comprehensive Sign Plan Amendment for 7201 University Avenue N.E.
Whereas, Fridley City Code Section 214.16 requires Shopping Centers and Multiple Use Buildings
to submit a comprehensive sign plan to the City Council for approval; and
Whereas, the Council approved the Comprehensive Sign Plan for the property at 7201 University
Avenue in the early 1990s when the existing building was constructed; and
Whereas, City staff received a request for an amendment to the existing Comprehensive Sign
Plan from the property owner’s landlord, to allow both non-illuminated and illuminated signs on
the exterior wall of the building; and
Whereas, the new sign plan will continue to provide a consistent and aesthetically pleasing
appearance to the wall signage on the exterior of the building, which is what is required by the
City’s Sign Code.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves a
Comprehensive Sign Plan amendment for the property at 7201 University Avenue N.E.
