Resolution No. 2021-128
Approving a Grant for Preparing for Emerald Ash Borer from the Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources
Whereas, the City of Fridley (City) approved an Emerald Ash Borer Mitigation Plan to proactively
address the impacts of Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive insect pest; and
Whereas, the Emerald Ash Borer Mitigation Plan directs staff to treat high-quality ash trees and
remove and replace poor quality ash trees; and
Whereas, the City was awarded a grant for “Preparing for Emerald Ash Borer” from the Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources for $55,400 to increase the number of removed and replaced
poor quality ash trees in 2022.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves the
grant for Preparing for Emerald Borer from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
