Amending the 2022 Budget for the Sanitary Sewer Collection System Lining
Project 602-60-22450
Whereas, the City of Fridley’s 2022 Budget and its Capital Investment Program (CIP) allocate
funding for specific projects meeting the goals and objectives of the City and its Comprehensive
Plan; and
Whereas, in 2021, the City Council approved the 2022 Budget to include a staff recommendation
to apply federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to several utility infrastructure projects
in the Water, Sanitary Sewer, and Storm Water Utilities; and
Whereas, these projects benefit the entire community by holding rates down through funding
projects and avoiding additional bonding and interest payments and address important
infrastructure needs; and
Whereas, the City subsequently received additional ARPA funds in the amount of $48,211.55 that
are available for use in 2022; and
Whereas, staff is requesting applying $35,725 of the additional ARPA funds to the 2022 Capital
Investment Program Sanitary Sewer Collection System Lining Project 602-60-22450 to maintain
the objectives of prior ARPA allocations, and to apply this funding to a shovel-ready project in
need of additional funding.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby amends the
2022 Budget by an addition of $35,725 to the Sanitary Sewer Collection System Lining Project
602-60-22450.
