Resolution No. 2022-36
Approving Park System Improvement Plan Final Report and Authorizing Staff
to Begin Implementation of the Plan
Whereas, the City of Fridley has contracted services from consultant WSB to create a Park System
Improvement Plan (Plan); and
Whereas, Fridley residents have been engaged in the development of the Plan through surveys,
events, Town Hall meetings, task force groups, and social media; and
Whereas, the Plan has been developed to distribute park improvements across the Fridley
community to enhance and modernize Community Parks as well as neighborhood parks; and
Whereas, the Plan includes analysis of underserviced areas, barriers to parks and demographics
in Fridley to propose park improvement priorities that better meet the needs of all residents; and
Whereas, the Fridley City Council received recommendations from the Park System Improvement
Plan Finance and Refinement Task Force groups which have informed a plan not to exceed $30
million dollars and a ten-year implementation; and
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves the
Park System Improvement Plan Final Report and authorizes staff to begin the implementation
phase of the Plan.
