VILLAGE OF FRIDLEY
ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
A resolution pursuant to the Minnesota Municipal Housing and Re-development
Act as amended, and the Public Act of the Congress of the United States,
known as the "Housing Act of 1949" and hereby establishing a Municipal
housing and Re-development Authority for the Village of Fridley, Anoka
County, Minnesota.
WHEREAS the Minnesota State Legislature has provided a "Municipal Housing
and Redevelopment Act," enabling the various municipalities and political sub-,
divisions, within its soverign jurisdiction, to participate in Federal Grants
and Loans and as further provided by the "Federal Housing Act of 1949," and
WHEREAS certain slum, blight and sub-standard housing conditions do exist
within the corporate limits of this Village and there is a vital need for the
replacement and construction, development and re-development of standard, up-
to-date low cost rental housing units within this jurisdiction, and
WHEREAS certain predominately open, deteriorated, platted lands are in
need of preparation for development purposes, and
WHEREAS, a public development and re-development program is consistent
and contributive to the health, safety and civic improvement of this community
and the public welfare, and necessary to the preservation and perpetuation
of the free enterprise system,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota, this 24th day of April, A.D. 1950 and in General
Meeting Assembled that we do hereby ordain, constitute and establish a
Municipal Housing and Re-development Authority for the Village of Fridley,
Anoka County, Minnesota, with full powers to act as provided by said State
and federal Acts, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the
Department of Administration of the State Division of Housing and Redevelopment,
State Capitol Bldg., St. Paul, Minnesota and to the Administrator of the
Housing and Home Finance Agency, 25, Washington D.C. as the official act
establishing a Municipal Housing and Re-development Authority by and for the
Village of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota,
Witness the hand and Corporate Seal of said Village this 24th day of April,
1950, in General Meeting assembled and by the irrevocable authority of its
Common Council.
