David Elvin, MnDOT; Chris Bower, MnDOT; and Marcell Walker, Bolton & Menk provided an update on
scheduled work and the PEL study of TH 47 and TH 65.

Ms. Workin provided an update on discussions around EV charging with CSG.
4.!Energy Action Plan Updates
Ms. Workin provided an informational update regarding the Energy Action Plan including new
insulation rebates issued and Fun Fair tabling.
5.!Grant Updates
Ms. Workin provided an informational update regarding awarded grants including the Lawns to
Legumes demonstration grant, a BWSR HELPP grant for the Commons Park hillside, and a Met Council
Water Efficiency Grant.
6.!2022 Outreach Events
Ms. Workin provided an information update on completed outreach events including the Household
Hazardous Waste collection and Environmental Fun Fair.

7.!Informal Status Reports
Commissioner Foell provided an update on the annual commissioner conference.
Ms. Workin reminded commissioners to RSVP to the May 31 presentation on meeting procedure provided
by Kennedy-Graven by May 27.
Adjournment
MOTION by Commissioner Olberding to adjourn the meeting SECONDED by Commissioner Foell. The
MOTION PASSED unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 8:13 PM.

Recodification Update
Background
On August 23, 2021, the Fridley City Council passed a resolution to begin a three-year process to recodify
the City Code. Ordinance No. 1399 was adopted on February 28, 2022 adopting the new Chapter 1 of the
City Code and revisions to Chapter 2 are currently underway. Soon, staff will begin working on Chapter 3
which will include revisions to the existing:
Chapter 101 Animal Control
Chapter 104 Tree Management
Chapter 105 Landscape Maintenance
Chapter 109 Air Quality
Chapter 113 Solid Waste
Recommendation
Staff will discuss the current provisions of these codes to these codes for information purposes.

Energy Action Plan Updates
Background
At the November 9 meeting, the EQEC recommended adoption of Phase 2 of the Energy Action Plan. The
following activities were completed this past month:
June cable show on outdoor energy savings
Direct outreach to all 5-plus mulit-family buildings
Tabling at Environmental Fun
Loaned energy jenga to Woodcrest school
The following activities are projectedin the next month:
Tabling June 21 concert
Developing loanable home energy kit
Beginning SolSmart programming

Commissioners should review and discuss if there are other activities that should be considered.
