EQE 06/14/2022 ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY & ENERGY COMMISSION MEETING June 14, 2022 7:00 PM Fridley Civic Campus, 7071 University Ave N.E. MINUTES Call to Order CHAIR DRITZ called the commission to order at 7:05 PM Present Amy Dritz Justin Foell Sam Stoxen Nick Olberding Aaron Klemz Rachel Workin, Environmental Planner Approval of Agenda MOTION by Commissioner Olberding to APPROVE the June 14, 2022, meeting agenda. SECONDED by Commissioner Foell. The MOTION PASSED unanimously. Approval of Meeting Minutes Commissioner Foell noted that the word “Fair” was missing from the phrase “Environmental Fun Fair” within the Outreach packet item. MOTION by Commissioner Foell to APPROVE the May 10, 2022, meeting minutes. SECONDED by Commissioner Klemz. The MOTION PASSED unanimously. New Business 1. Recodification update Ms. Workin provided an update on the recodification process and said that staff would next be undertaking revisions to the current Chapter 100. Commissioners discussed codes of within the chapter. Old Business 2. Energy Action Plan Updates Environmental Quality & Energy Commission Minutes Page 2 Meeting 3/8/2022 Ms. Workin provided an informational update regarding the Energy Action Plan including efforts by Max Lohse to conduct business outreach, create home energy kits, and perform direct outreach to multifamily apartments. 3. Grant Updates Ms. Workin provided an overview of the new Met Council water efficiency grant and site locations for the Lawns to Legumes grant. 4. 2022 Outreach Events Ms. Workin shared updates on the recycling tours, the Park Plaza drop-off, and 49rs Days. Other Items 7. Informal Status Reports Commissioners discussed switching to the Banfill room due to the upcoming summer concert series. Ms. Workin shared information about the book swap on July 19. Adjournment MOTION by Commissioner Foell to adjourn the meeting SECONDED by Commissioner Stoxen. The MOTION PASSED unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 8:13 PM.
