Resolution No. 2022 - 91
Approving and Authorizing Signing a Joint Powers Agreement for Criminal Prosecution
Services Between the City of Fridley and City of Coon Rapids for the Years 2023, 2024, 2025,
2026 and 2027
Whereas, the City Fridley (City) and City of Coon Rapids entered into a Joint Powers Agreement for
Criminal Prosecution Services effective January 1, 2018, through December 31, 2022; and
Whereas, for the past five years, the City and Coon Rapids have received the benefits of sharing
resources that have created a more efficient and cost-savings government operation for citizens of
both cities; and
Whereas, representatives of both cities negotiated and have agreed upon a new Joint Powers
Agreement effective January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2027, with an option for a five-year
extension per mutual agreement of the parties.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves said Joint
Powers Agreement.
Be it further resolved, that the Mayor and the City Manager are hereby authorized to execute the
agreement.
