Written or oral objections willbeconsidered at themeeting.No appeal may be taken as to theamount of an assessment
unless asigned,written objection is filed withthe City Clerk prior to thehearing or is presented to thepresiding officer
at thehearing.The City Council may,upon such notice,consider any objection to theamount of aproposed individual
assessment at an adjourned meeting,upon such further notice to theaffected property owners,as it deems advisable.
Aproperty owner who has properly objected to theassessment may appeal an assessment to district court pursuant to
Minnesota Statutes Section 429.081 by serving notice of theappeal upon theMayor or City Clerk of theCity within 30
days after theadoption of theassessment and filing such notice withthe District Court within ten days after service upon
theMayor or City Clerk.
The City of Fridley has adopted Resolution No.14-1995 deferring special assessment payments for senior citizens.The
City Council may defer thepayment of special assessments for any homestead property owned by aperson 65 years of
age or older,orfor persons retireddue to permanent and total disability for which it would be ahardship to make the
payments.
