Bob Manzoline, NLX Rail Service Fridley Civic Campus February 16, 2023 Bob Manzoline, Executive Director NLX Passenger Rail Alliance 111 Station 44 Road Eveleth, MN 55734 Dear Mr. Manzoline: The City of Fridley, nestled between the proposed stations in Minneapolis and Coon Rapids, is fully supportive of the Northern Lights Express Passenger Rail Project. I encourage the NLX Alliance, our local legislators, and Governor Walz to pursue funding now, while Federal dollars are available from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. In addition to providing an efficient option for Fridley residents to travel to Duluth and northeast Minnesota, NLX would be an asset to many Fridley businesses. The proposed track improvements (“the third main”) would be beneficial to the movement of freight, and cause less interference in the BNSF Northtown Railyard. After more than 20 years of discussion, study, and design work, now is the time to move NLX forward. Thank you for your efforts. Sincerely, Scott J.
