Resolution No. 2023-38, Approving Grant Agreement with Anoka Conservation District for Apex Pond Enhancement Resolution No. 2023-38 Approving Grant Agreement with Anoka Conservation District for Apex Pond Enhancement Whereas, Springbrook Creek is listed as impaired for aquatic life and recreation due to nutrient and bacterial contamination; and Whereas, the City of Fridley (City) must address this impairment as part of its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System Permit and its approved Local Water Plan; and Whereas, Apex Pond is a water quality treatment pond protecting Springbrook Creek and the Mississippi River in the City; and Whereas, Apex Pond is in need of routine maintenance due to sedimentation; and Whereas, it has been determined that performing the Apex Pond Enhancement Project in conjunction with routine maintenance will provide increased water quality protection of Springbrook Creek and the Mississippi River as well as decrease future maintenance for the City; and Whereas, the City has been awarded a grant of $60,000 for the Apex Pond Enhancement Project by the Anoka Conservation District; and Whereas, the City has allocated funds in its Capital Investment Plan for the remaining cost of construction through its Storm Water Utility Fund. Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves the Grant Agreement with Anoka Conservation District for the Apex Pond Enhancement Project. th Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Fridley this 24 day of April, 2023. _______________________________________ Scott J.
