Approving Purchase of Aerial Fire Apparatus Replacement
Whereas, in 2006 the City of Fridley (City) purchased an aerial apparatus, known as Ladder 2; and
Whereas, due to reoccurring equipment failures and anticipated future maintenance, staff from the
City’s Fire Division began examining options to replace the apparatus; and
Whereas, Minnesota Statute§ 471.59, subd. 1 allows local governmental units to participate in
cooperative purchasing consortiums; and
Whereas, in 2022 staff began working with four dealerships to solicit bids to replace Ladder 2; and
Whereas, through research and competitive bidding, staff recommend the purchase of a new E-One
HP100P Platform Fire Aerial Apparatus sold by Fire Safety U.S.A.; and
Whereas, section 6.05 of the Fridley City Charter authorizes the City Manager or their designee to
execute such sale agreements, if approved by the City Council.
Now, therefore it be resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves:
1. The Purchase Agreement with Fire Safety U.S.A. to purchase an E-One HP100P Platform Fire
Apparatus in the amount of $1,699,239.
2. The City Manager or their designee is authorized to execute said agreement.
