Approving 2023 Anoka County SHIP Grant Application for Gardening Education Program
Whereas, the Fridley Parks and Recreation Department offers educational programming deigned
to encourage residents to pursue leisure and environmental interests; and
Whereas, Anoka County offers reimbursement grants through the Statewide Health Improvement
Program (SHIP); and
Whereas, Anoka County distributes a portion of this funding to cities to develop and implement
programs, practices, and methods to encourage a healthier population; and
Whereas, Springbrook Nature Center and Fridley Parks and Recreation has staff and facilities
needed to implement a successful gardening education program.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby authorizes the
execution of the Gardening Education Program SHIP Grant from Anoka County.
