Summary Ordinance No. 1409
Amending the Fridley City Code to Add Chapter 35, Mobile Food Units, Amend Chapter 209,
Fees and Repeal Chapter 216, Street Vending
The City of Fridley does ordain, after review, examination, and staff recommendation that the
Fridley City Code (Code) be amended by adopting Ordinance No. 1409. A summary of the
amendments to the Code made by Ordinance No. 1409 are as follows:
The Ordinance adds Chapter 35, Mobile Food Units to the Fridley City Code (Code). Section 35.01
is a purpose statement, § 35.02 defines terms related to the chapter, § 35.03 establishes a Food
Truck License in the City of Fridley (City), § 35.04 outlines the Food Truck License application
requirements, § 35.05 lists allowed activities for Food Trucks, § 35.06 lists prohibited activities for
Food Trucks, § 35.07 lists signs requirements for Food Trucks, § 35.08 establishes an Ice Cream
Truck License in the City, § 35.09 outlines the Ice Cream Truck License application requirements, §
35.10 describes Ice Cream Truck routes and hours of operations, § 35.11 lists allowed activities for
Ice Cream Trucks, § 35.12 describes the City’s response to license suspensions, revocations and
denials of licenses, § 35.13 refers to the Fees Chapter of the Code for such licenses. The ordinance
amends the Fees Chapter of the Code by establishing a fee for a Food Truck License at $50, a
Food Truck Fire Safety Inspection at $100 and an Ice Cream Truck License at $75. The ordinance
repeals the fee for a Street Vending License. The ordinance repeals the Street Vending Chapter of
the Code.
Ordinance No. 1409 was passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Fridley on June 26,
