Repealing and Replacing Resolution No. 2023-104 and Approving Lawful Gambling Lease
for Fridley Lions Club at Forgotten Star Brewery
Whereas, the Fridley City Code (Code) and various sections of Minnesota Statutes (M.S.) direct
licensing requirements for certain business activities within the City of Fridley (City); and
Whereas, pursuant to the Lawful Gambling Chapter of the Code, the City Council (Council) shall
approve lawful gambling activities; and
Whereas, a Lawful Gambling lease application was submitted by Adam Bedard of the Fridley Lions
Club the State of Minnesota to add lawful gambling activities at Forgotten Star Brewery; and
Whereas, applicable City staff have reviewed the applications and conditions of the City’s Lawful
Gambling activities; and
Whereas, the Council approved Resolution No. 2023-104 at the September 11 City Council
meeting; and
Whereas, the Fridley Lions Club was informed that in order to add bingo events to their lease
they need an additional gambling activity; and
Whereas, the Fridley Lions Club have agreed to add meat raffles to their lease at Forgotten Star
Brewery to be compliant with the State’s requirements.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves the
updated resolution to add a lawful gambling lease at Forgotten Star Brewery for the Fridley Lions
Club.
