Resolution No. 2023-132, Approving a State of Minnesota Voting Operations, Technology and Elections Resources Account County-Municipality Agreement Resolution No. 2023-132 Approving a State of Minnesota Voting Operations, Technology and Elections Resources Account County-Municipality Agreement Whereas, pursuant to Chapter No. 4 of the Fridley City Charter, the City of Fridley (City) shall hold elections every even numbered year or conduct a special election if ordered by the Fridley City Council; and Whereas, the City partners with the Anoka County (County) to facilitate elections-related activities; and Whereas, the County partners with every city, school district and township within its jurisdiction; and Whereas, a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) was created to reduce costs by streamlining operations and eliminate redundancies where election services were concerned throughout the County; and Whereas, the City entered a JPA with Anoka County in 2013 for elections-related services and equipment; and Whereas, the JPA was subject to automatic renewal unless the City or County proposed updated terms; and Whereas, the State of Minnesota (State) has given the County a disbursement from the Voting Operations, Technology and Election Resources Account to be given to each Municipality; and Whereas, the County has given each Municipality the option to have the County hold onto these funds and use them to offset that amount of their annual JPA fees; and Whereas, the City has chosen to allow the County to hold these fees to offset the amount of the annual JPA fee. Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of the City of Fridley hereby approves the State of Minnesota Voting Operations, Technology and Elections Resources Account County-Municipality Agreement. th Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Fridley this 13 day of November, 2023. ____________________________________________ Scott J.
